A Press Tour is conducted every year with a motive to strengthen the relationship between the government and the media. It creates better impression among the media persons about the Government and its initiatives.

Tour outside the State: Rural media persons of various districts are taken to visit other states. This provides them with a platform to meet and interact with journalists, officials, Ministers and Cheif Minister of different States. This is done to give them an exposure and to familiarize themselves with various developmental and socio-economic facets of the States.

Tour Inside the State: Media persons are taken to various districts, exposing them to significant developmental schemes, new initiatives and acheivements of those districts.

The department successfully organised a press tour to Gujarat from 4th to 16th March, 2017. The team consisted of 18 rural journalists from different districts of th State. The Press Tour was flagged off by the Media Advisor to the CVheif Minister, Hrishikesh Goswami.
