Events organized by Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Assam in 2025-26
The Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Assam organizes National Press Day programme every year in all districts across the State through the field offices under this Directorate. The State Level National Press Day programme was held at the PWD Convention Centre in Dispur, Guwahati on 16th November, 2025.
- As per a decision taken by the State Cabinet in 2021, the death anniversary of renowned freedom fighter Tarun Ram Phookan - July 28 - has been observed as Deshbhakti Divas every year since 2021 to create awareness about the contributions of the legendary freedom fighter to the freedom struggle of the country. This year in 2025 also the event was organized under the aegis of the Information and Public Relations department with various programmes across all districts of Assam. A state-level mega open quiz “Deshbhakti Quiz” was also organised as part of the event which saw a participation of nearly 1200 participants (400 teams)
- DIPR, Assam has been organizing the interaction programme of Hon’ble Chief Minister every year on 1st January with senior journalists on the occasion of New Year called Notun Dinor Alap. On this occasion, New Year gifts are also presented to the DIPR Cardholder Media Persons of the state on behalf of the HCM.
- DIPR, Assam also organizes various press meets/ briefings and events for HCM on a regular basis throughout the year.
- DIPR also takes parts in various exhibitions and book fairs for publicity of Govt schemes and programmes
